Feels Great to be Sore
So both today and yesterday my legs are extremely sore from my leg workout I did on Thursday. I did a lot of weighted exercises at the gym but you don't have to go to the gym to get in a good workout. Here is a quick at home leg workout that is sure to leave your sore.
Warm-up (each exercise 3x30sec)
High knees
Jumping jacks
Butt kickers
Jogging in place
Workout
Squats (see last weeks blog post) 5x15
Lunges (alternate legs) 3x30
Bridges 6x20
Side-lying hip abduction 4x10
-lay on one side and stack your feet one on top of another and raise and lower the top leg
Donkey kicks 4x10 (each side)
-get on all fours and keeping your back straight raise one leg up keeping your knee bent and squeeze your butt
Curtsy lunge (alternate legs) 4x20
-put one leg behind the other crossing your thighs and bending both knees as if you were curtsying then return to standing and switch to the other leg
Squat with extension 4x10
-perform a normal squat then when you stand up extend one hip back squeezing your butt and then squat again and do the other hip
Cool-down (hold each for 30 seconds)
Standing quad stretch
Standing hamstring stretch
Seated hanstring stretch (each side)
Calf stretch
